Per GoBearcats:
After drilling all three of his field goal attempts and making both extra points in the 23-3 win at Temple for the No. 21-ranked Cincinnati football team, senior kicker Ryan Coe was named American Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday by the league office.
Coe made kicks from 28, 37 and 24 yards and both of his PATs versus the Owls. He has now made nine consecutive field goal attempts and 15 of his last 16 field goal tries, proving to be a weapon for the Bearcats.
His 18 field goals are second in the league and tied for 10th in the nation, while his 81.8 percentage (18-of-22) makes him the most accurate kicker in Cincinnati history – with a minimum of 20 attempts.
His 18 field goals are also the fourth-most in a single season in school history. He is second in the AAC with 95 points.
He three-field-goal game against the Owls came a week after his 21-yard go-ahead field goal in the fourth quarter proved to be the game-winner in a 27-25 victory over East Carolina.
Earlier this season, Coe made a school-record five field goals, including a season-best 52-yarder, at SMU.
Coe’s honor is the third AAC Special Teams award earned by a Bearcat this season with punter Mason Fletcher picking up a pair of player of the week accolades earlier this season.
He also joins senior linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. and junior wide receiver Tyler Scott as AAC player of the week honorees.
He is now a two-time AAC Special Teams Player of the Week honoree. A member of the Ray Guy Award Watch List, Fletcher was also named the National Punter of the Week following UC’s win over Tulsa earlier this season.
