Set 3- The Bearcats would jump out to a 4-0 lead like they did in Set 2 as they continued to establish their lead early in the set. The Owls would rally back and tie the match at 7 following a huge five-point run, as the Owls were looking to avoid the sweep. The Owls would jump out to their first lead since early in Set 1 as they forced a timeout as they led the Bearcats 14-12. The Bearcats would take a 19-17 behind a huge solo block by Glendinning, where she followed up with a huge kill as the Bearcats were looking to make their run at the right time en route to a sweep. The Bearcats would hold on and defeat the Owls 25-22 and take the match three sets to zero.
Notables- The Bearcats finished the match hitting .291 as the Bearcats would finish the season winning 5 of their last 7 seven matches.
The Bearcats were led by sophomore Abby Walker who finished with a match high 12 kills on a .571% clip, while adding three blocks.
Senior Kailea Carrier finished the match with nine kills on sixteen attempts.
Senior Libero Payton Frederick finished the match with 19 digs and now finishes her collegiate career with 1400 career digs.
The Bearcats finish the season (11-19, 9-11 AAC) after playing a gauntlet of a preseason versus six top ranked teams in the country, this young Bearcats team started to find their footing late in the season and really became a fun team to watch once the chemistry got to clicking. The future is bright for the Bearcats volleyball program as Coach Alvey has taken this program to new heights and continues to dominate the recruiting trail which will be big as they make the transition to the Big 12 next season.
