Some other notes, Jabari Taylor was doing some work with the linebackers. I thought Ty Van Fossen tested very well, running a 4.64-4.7 40 yard dash, having a 35.5 inch vertical, while repping 18 reps of 225 on the bench press. Van Fossen has really changed his body around in the last few months, listed at 222 on the University of Cincinnati’s webpage, he weighed in at 230 on Pro Day. I thought those were some great numbers for Van Fossen, as he looks to hear his name called in next month’s NFL Draft.

Josh Whyle weighed in at 260 pounds back at the Senior Bowl in January, but weighed in at 249 on Thursday at Pro Day. “I just want to show the coaches that I am comfortable playing a little bit heavier and that they could still split me out wide, put me in the box. I really feel comfortable playing at both weights, I don’t think I notice much of a difference,” said Whyle. “When I get in a game though, 260 pounds is a lot easier to move guys within the box, so 10 pounds makes a huge difference.” For people who don’t know Josh Whyle has been out in Southern California training at ProActive with top tight end prospects Michael Mayer and Darnell Washington, both who are viewed as first round draft selections in latest mock drafts.

Ivan Pace Jr. also had a great showing after running a 4.5 unofficial 40-yard dash, Pace also showed his high-level IQ and footwork, impressing a lot of scouts while raising his draft stock in the process. Pace Jr., was the first Consensus All-American in program history in his one year as a Bearcat and is projected anywhere from a second to fourth round draft pick in some mock drafts, despite his size Pace Jr, showed why he is one of the most intriguing prospects in this years NFL Draft.

“I wanted to show scouts that Cincinnati is not a smaller program, but that we are one of the bigger programs in college football,” said Ivan Pace Jr. “I wanted to show them that I could play with anybody, the size doesn’t matter to me.”
