Scott Satterfield and the Bearcats struck gold this evening after priority target Samaj Jones announced his commitment to the Bearcats. Jones, a four star quarterback is currently rated the 34th quarterback in the class of 2024, while being rated the 350th ranked player in the class of 2024. Jones, a 5’11”, 218 pound quarterback that attends Saint Joesph Prep School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is currently teammates of recent Bearcat wide receiver commit Elijah Jones.
Jones, has been a priority target since Scott Satterfield and staff took over back in December, and now have landed their top priority in the 2024 class. Jones, held offers from Tennessee, Maryland, Louisville, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Penn State and many more. Jones, was on campus just over three weeks ago back for his official visit on June 11-13th, which was a huge weekend for the Bearcats in terms of recruiting.
Jones, took official visits to West Virginia (June 2nd-4th) as well as Oklahoma (June 16-18), before coming to his decision of joining Scott Satterfield and the Bearcats. Jones, fits the perfect type of mold Scott Satterfield and company are looking for in that dual threat ability. Jones will now join a quarterback room featuring himself and former four-star recruit in Brady Drogash, who was a member of the 2023 recruiting cycle.
Samaj Jones now becomes the 16th member of the 2024 recruiting class after announcing his pledge to Scott Satterfield and the Bearcats, which moves the Bearcats into the top 40 in the overall recruiting class rankings according to 247.
