Revamped offensive line
Scott Satterfield and the staff made it a priority to address the offensive line via transfer portal as Gavin Gerhardt was the only starter to return from a season ago. “Last year, I was the young guy, but I am stepping in and doing the best leader I can be for this team,” Gerhardt told TFON.
Deondre Bufford (Kentucky), Trevor Radosevich (Penn), Luke Kandra (Louisville), Judea Milon (Tyler Junior College), Phillip Wilder (Southeast Missouri State) all came to Cincinnati this offseason via transfer portal. “Deondre Bufford came in after spring, he is still adjusting to some things, but he’s very athletic, has great size, he will be great addition for us this season,” Gerhardt said.
However, it isn’t easy to replace an offensive than that had so much chemistry over the years as Jake Renfro (Wisconsin), Dylan O’Quinn, James Tunstall (NFL), Jeremey Cooper (NFL), Lorenez Metz (NFL) and Joe Huber (Wisconsin) all earned All-AAC honors from 2021-2022. For Satterfield and the Bearcats, the good news is they also return Dartanyan Tinsely, John Williams and Cam Jones to the mix who have a some game experience throughout their careers.
