Scott Satterfield and the Bearcats have officially kicked off summer camp this week, and one of the main questions heading into the season was the wide receiver room. Satterfield was looking to rebuild a room that was completely depleted after losing Tre Tucker (Las Vegas Raiders), Tyler Scott (Chicago Bears), Will Pauling (Wisconsin), Quincy Burroughs (Wisconsin), Nick Mardner (Auburn), Drew Donley (Texas State) and more from a season ago, leaving Chris Scott as the only returner with playing experience from the 2022 roster.
The revamped wide receiver room looks to bring a lot of length, size and speed, with the additions of Dee Wiggins, Braden Smith, Xzavier Henderson, Donovan Ollie, Aaron Turner and Sterling Berkhalter. Each of these guys bring multiple seasons of college football experience, as they look to reshape the production that was once in question for the Bearcats just a couple months ago.
“I’m very excited about that group,” Satterfield said. “For a receiver room, it’s the most unselfish receiver room I have been a part of throughout my coaching career. These guys are very coachable players in that room. These guys have produced a lot in their careers, just haven’t been here at Cincinnati, so they know what it takes to go out there and make plays. I feel really good about that group, we have length, size, strength, also some smaller slot guys that we will be able to utilize in many different ways.”
