We now know when the Cincinnati Bearcats first Big 12 game will kick off.
The Cincinnati Bearcats and Oklahoma Sooners will kick off at noon E.T./11 C.T. on FOX Saturday, September 23rd, sources tell the Action Network.
The matchup will mark the Bearcats first conference game in the Big 12, and it comes against one of the conference’s signature, and departing, football programs in Oklahoma. Since the Big 12 began play in 1996, the Sooners have won 11 football conference championships and three additional regular season championships.
Cincinnati and Oklahoma last met in 2010, a game won by the Sooners at 31-29 at Paycor Stadium (it was still named Paul Brown Stadium in 2010). The only other matchup between these two programs was in 2008, a game also won by the Sooners 52-26 down in Norman, Oklahoma.
While it has not been announced yet, Bearcats fans could be led to believe that the game will be featured on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff with the network’s two-hour, on-site pregame show proceeding it.
The Sooners enter the season ranked 20th in the AP poll and are 72.4% favorites to win the game against UC on ESPN’s Football Power Index.
The Bearcats are currently at Camp Higher Ground (West Harrison, Ind.) gearing up for their first season in the Big 12 and first season with new head coach Scott Satterfield leading the way. Cincinnati’s first game is Saturday, Sept. 2nd vs. Eastern Kentucky. That game will kick off at 3:30 E.T. and can be seen on ESPN+.
