The one big question heading into fall camp was how the Bearcats offensive line would look despite losing four of their five starters from a season ago to the NFL or transfer portal. However, for Scott Satterfield and the Bearcats, they went out and grabbed five transfers this offseason in hopes to restructure that offensive line that was once all conference selections in recent years. However, the Bearcats also return some big-time pieces in Dartanyan Tinsely, John Williams, Cam Jones, who all saw action during the 2022 season and are poised to take the next step ahead of the 2023 season. “John Williams, from the spring to now, is two different players,” said defensive end Daniel Grzesiak.
One of those transfers being former Elder Panther standout Luke Kandra who spent the last two seasons with Scott Satterfield and company at Lousiville. The others, include Trevor Radosevich, Deondre Buford, Phillip Wilder and Judea Milon. Radosevich was a four-year starter at Penn, while Buford started all 13 games for Kentucky a season ago.
However, for Kandra, the decision to return home and join the Bearcats was a not your typical homecoming to say the least. Kandra opened up on his decision to return back to his old stomping grounds here in Cincinnati in a recent interview with TFON.
“I woke up that Monday or Tuesday, right after we found out we were playing Cincinnati in the Fenway Bowl, before I saw the news, I saw a bunch of texts from friends and family asking what was going on, am I going to transfer. I stopped and asked them, what are you guys talking about, then coach called us in and told us he was heading to Cincinnati, I was caught by surprise,” Kandra told TFON.
