Stokes, a 6’1” safety was a former four star recruit in the class of 2022. Stokes appeared in eight games for the Buckeyes as a true freshman in 2022, but however only appeared in 3 games this past season. Stokes, will have three years of eligibility remaining as well which is massive for the Bearcats.
The addition of Stokes is massive for the Bearcats after the Bearcats secondary struggled mightily in 2023, they then saw starting safety Bryon Threats transfer to UCF. Stokes, will be a guy that will come in and make an immediate impact for the Bearcats defense.
Coming out of high school Stokes was a four star prospect that played both receiver and defensive back. However, he ultimately decided to join the Buckeyes after reporting offers from Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Miami, Norte Dame, Oregon and many more.
Stokes, now joins former Buckeye defensive back coach Kerry Coombs here in Cincinnati with a huge opportunity looming ahead. It has been clear the Bearcats were making the secondary a huge priority in the portal. Now Kerry Coombs locks down a huge priority target and might not be done just quite yet.
