Following the Bearcats 76-54 victory over Evansville Wes Miller provided an update on injured players Aziz Bandaogo and CJ Fredrick, who both missed tonight’s game due to lingering injuries.
Wes Miller provided a positive update on Bandaogo following the Evansville game after missing his third consecutive game. “Aziz worked out today, he got a sweat in. It was the first time I have seen him move since the Dayton game.” Said Wes Miller. “It was the first time I saw him dunk and move with a little bit of pop. I think he’s trending in the right direction.”
However, for CJ Fredrick this appears to be a hamstring injury that may keep him sidelined for the Bearcats big 12 opener just due to his previous hamstring history. Fredrick reaggravated the injury in the Stetson game, an injury that originally took place two weeks ago in the Dayton matchup. Fredrick missed the Merrimack contest, before last week vs Stetson.
Wes Miller noted that CJ Fredrick is completely shut down from basketball activities as he looks to recover from the hamstring injury. “CJ Fredrick has a hamstring injury and he’s completely shut down with no basketball activity.” said Wes Miller, “If we played in 5-7 days, I would say there’s no way he’s available. I think we have a way to go for CJ.”
The Bearcats kick off their inaugural Big 12 conference slate next week vs BYU and the Bearcats were looking to get back healthy with a week to prepare for the nationally ranked Cougars.
