Coming out of the weekend Scott Satterfield and the Bearcats landed four commitments on Sunday alone. However, they were done there after New Mexico State defensive back Mehki Miller announced his pledge to the Bearcats.
Miller, a 6’1”, 200 pound defensive back who spent his first three seasons at Miami of Ohio before transferring out west prior to the 2023 season. Miller had a career year where he finished with 59 tackles, two interceptions and four passes defended in 2023.
Miller was on campus last week on an official visit after the portal reopened and Kerry Coombs and the Bearcats continue to bolster their secondary after seeing their top two tacklers in Bryon Threats and Deshawn Pace transfer to Central Florida.
Miller now becomes the fourth defensive back to commit to the Bearcats out of the transfer portal joining the likes of Logan Wilson, Kye Stokes and Ormanie Arnold.
Miller provides great length and speed and that is something the Bearcats have been looking to add in the secondary this offseason. Miller has the opportunity to come in and make an immediate impact for the Bearcats just due to his length and physicality.
Miller will have one season of eligibility left as he continues his playing career here at the Univeristy of Cincinnati.
