The Bearcats received great news earlier this afternoon as CJ Fredrick was set to make his return after missing the last ten games with a hamstring injury. The senior guard has been working his way back from the hamstring he sustained vs Stetson back on December 22nd, and Wes Miller earlier this week on his weekly radio show that there was a “Possibility” Fredrick would be able to return for the Bearcats today vs #5 Houston.
Fredrick was seen going through warmups for the first time at Fifth Third Arena since suffering the hamstring injury back in December.
Fredrick was averaging nearly 7.5 points on 42% field goal shooting prior to the injury. The Bearcats now get another huge weapon back on offense at one of the most crucial times of the season. Fredricks availability brings so much to the table for the Bearcats as his three-point shooting ability will allow the floor to open up some and take some pressure off of guys like John Newman, Dan Skillings, Day-Day Thomas, and Simas Lukosius.
This will now be the first time all season that Wes Miller and the Bearcats will have had their complete roster available for a game this season. The Bearcats are coming off a bye week following their win vs Texas Tech as the now have two big opportunities looming ahead of them vs two top 25 opponents.
