With the days of the transfer portal your team can look different every year. Normally with college hoops it will look different because of graduation, now that’s still apart of the equation, a coaches ability to keep a player more than one year is on display yearly and is special when it can be done. The Cincinnati Bearcats missed March Madness once again, but at the end of the year you really saw a core of players that could be very special if they stuck together. The big question is could Wes Miller and the crew keep them together for next season?
Departures:
Graduation: John Newman, G and Ody Oguama, F
Transfer Portal: Viktor Lakhin, F/C (Clemson), Sage Tolentino, C (UNC-Ashville) and Jamille Reynolds, C (USF)
Newcomers:
High School: Tyler Betsey, F and Tyler McKinley, F/C
Transfer Portal: Arringten Page, F/C (USC) and Connor Hickman, G (Bradley)
The Bearcats added a big man who looks comfortable in the face up game and should be able to move his feet well against other quick bigs in Page. They also added quality shooting with Hickman who shot it at a 40.2% clip from 3 last season.
The high schooler’s coming in are both in the Top 75 of any ranking system you trust. They both could make an immediate impact, but if I was betting on who carved out minutes first I’d roll with Betsey because of his perimeter game.
