The 2025 recruiting class is now officially up to 11 members after four star wide receiver/ defensive back Mikkel Skinner announced his pledge to Cincinnati.
Skinner officially visited the University of Cincinnati last weekend where the staff was quickly able to lock down the talented athlete. Bearcats tight ends coach and South Carolina native Josh Stepp was the lead recruiter for the South Carolina four star.
“Cincinnati felt like home because of the family environment.” Skinner told TFON. “All of the 2025 recruits were around and I built a great relationship with most of them.”
Skinner attends Riverside high school in South Carolina, who’s currently rated the 362nd prospect in the 2025 recruiting class while ranked the No. 7 player in the state of South Carolina.
Skinner had reported offers from Ohio State, West Virginia, Appalachian State and many more.
Skinner sat down with TFON to discuss his decision below.
“What stood out to me about Cincinnati was how they recruited me early and just believes heavily in my athletic abilities,” Skinner told TFON. “They believe I can make a big change in what they are building right now and that meant a lot. Seeing that I will be apart of something new and in the making is great for me personally, especially with their new facilities in the making, I’m really excited!”
Skinner discussed his relationship with South Carolina native and Cincinnati Tight Ends coach Josh Stepp and his impact on his decision to commit to Cincinnati.
“Coach Stepp was doing a great job in recruiting me. He believes in me as a player and has been a key influence in my decision to commit to Cincinnati.”
