Bearcats’ Corleone and Kandra named preseason All-Americans by Phil Steele

Per GoBearcats:

Defensive lineman Dontay Corleone and offensive lineman Luke Kandra have both been named preseason All-Americans by Phil Steele.

Kandra was placed on the second team and Corleone earned a spot on the fourth team. Kandra was one of three Big 12 offensive linemen to be named a preseason All-American by Phil Steele, while Corleone was the lone Big 12 defensive linemen to earn the recognition.

Both players were first-team preseason all-conference selections as well. This marks the second straight season Corleone was named a preseason All-American by Phil Steele and the first such honor for Kandra.

Corleone, who was also named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy preseason watch list, collected 39 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 3.0 sacks, and one forced fumble this past season for the Bearcats, earning him All-Big 12 honors.

Kandra was named an All-American last year by the Associated Press and Walter Camp, and was an All-Big 12 honoree. He was ranked by Pro Football Focus as the second-best run blocking guard with a grade of 82.1, and the third-ranked Power Five guard (81.8).
