Moments ago, Scott Satterfield and company added their 14th member to the 2025 recruiting class after four-star defensive back Jahmari Deloatch announced his pledge to Cincinnati.
DeLotch, a defensive back from Oscar Smith High School, (VA) is currently rated the 614th player in the class of 2025, while ranked the eighth player in the state of West Virginia. The highly touted four-star defensive back held reported offers from Virginia Tech, Duke, Michigan, Wake Forest, Indiana and many more.
The talented four-star defensive back is known for his blazing speed on and off the gridiron, as Deloatch is also a multi-sport athlete where he excels at track and field as well. The talented athlete wasn’t quick to shy away at the idea of potentially being a two sport athlete at the University of Cincinnati either.
“I’m aware that it might be an option for me throughout my college career.” Deloatch told TFON. “However, it may be something I consider in my second or third year of college.”
He breaks down his commitment to Cincinnati below.
“What really stood out to me about Cincinnati was their culture and the way they compete.” Deloatch told TFON. “I love the program and how the school helps their athletes. The coaching staff really excites me as well. However, the biggest thing that stood out to me were the benefits that come with the school with the business degree at the University of Cincinnati.”
Now for Deloatch, he will come to Cincinnati and get the opportunity to work alongside one of the best recruiters and defensive backs coaches in all of the country in Kerry Coombs. It is worth noting that a guy like Deloatch has the ability to play multiple positions in the secondary weather that is safety or corner back and his versatility and speed were the biggest two things that quickly jumped off the page when you turned on the tape from his junior season.
He breaks down his relationship with defensive backs coach Kerry Coombs below.
“My relationship with coach Coombs is great! I’m more than excited to work with him and I know he will definitely develop me greatly.” said Deloatch. “Seeing his resume and the caliber of players he has helped get to the league and the careers they have had in the NFL. It shows a lot. What sealed it is coach Coombs. I weight all my options pros and cons and what helped make that final decision was whose wing do I want to be under throughout my career. Of course, I said the best defensive backs coach in the country.”
Worth noting that Deloatch now becomes the second defensive prospect to announce their pledge to Cincinnati this afternoon, joining Gahanna Lincoln standout Terrell Holcomb.
However, for people who have yet to watch the tape on the latest Cincinnati commit, he has a message for you below.
“My message for the Bearcats fans is, thank you for welcoming me. God Bless you all. Now Bearcats fans, the one thing you should know about me is that I’m a very aggressive defensive back who will find the ball. I would describe myself as someone who is extremely versatile, and they should expect me to be everywhere on the field making plays.”
