JS: You have bursted on to the recruiting seen this summer, how does it feel to be getting recognition from major programs?
BW: It feels great when your hard work and dedication gets noticed by anyone, let alone these incredible schools and programs. But I just love football and the competition. I just go out and do the best I can, give 120% every time whether in the weightroom, practice or at a camp. The fact that these coaches are noticing is really like the icing on the cake. I still have a lot of work to do, and I look forward to it! The grind never stops!
JS: What did it mean to be offered by UC?
BW: The UC offer was incredible. It was something I was working hard for and they were high on my wish list, so when coach Cardwell called I could not have been more appreciative and excited.
JS: Which coaches on the UC staff have you built a relationship with
BW: I’ve met coach Satterfield when I went down for a spring practice, and really liked him. We were able to talk a bit and I look forward to getting to know him more. Coach Cardwell has been awesome to get to know and build a relationship with. I’ve spent multiple times on the field with him now, and I can see myself fitting into his program. He is very motivating in the way he coaches and you find yourself getting hyped up just being at camp with him I can only imagine what it will be like on game day. I was also able to meet his family and seen him interact with the players. I think the culture and comradery he creates with his player is something that fits with what I’m looking for in my college football career.
JS: Do you plan on visiting UC during the season or before?
BW: Hopefully, I will be there before and during. The plan is to get there on an official visit as soon as I can, and hopefully come down for a game day visit.
