Smith discusses what stood out to him the most about his visit to Cincinnati, which for him was the Monster Factory, home of Strength and Conditioning guru Mike Rehfeldt.
“The weight room was something that stood out to me right away,” said Smith. “It was a really big weight room with a lot of things you typically don’t see in college weight rooms. Some of the machines at Cincinnati were something I have never seen before myself. I asked coach Rehfeldt to show me how to use those pieces of equipment and what they specifically do for a student athletes growth and development.”
Now for Smith, he discusses his offseason plans and things he is focusing on this summer in preparation for his junior season as he looks to take that next step in his recruitment process.
“My biggest focus this summer and offseason is individual development,” Smith told TFON. “I’m not worried about all the offers or other people’s offers. The only thing I am worried about this offseason is how can I get better each day whether that’s physically or mentally.”
However, for Smith he also discusses the possibility of playing close to home after garnering interest from Indiana and Cincinnati over the recent weeks.
“For me, to potentially have the opportunity to play at any program in the state of Ohio at the next level would be great. My parents would then be able to come to all of the games,” Smith explained. “However, I do know a lot of people at programs around the state of Ohio, so it is defiantly pretty cool for an in-state school to recruit you to their program.”
Now as Smith’s he notes that he is working on setting up visits to Dayton, Xavier and Indiana within the near future.
