The Bearcats hired Tyson Veidt from Iowa State to be their defensive coordinator in 2024. It was Veidt who devised the 3-3-5 defense at Iowa State, a defense used by the Bearcats over the last five seasons. Now, the Bearcats head to Ames, Iowa in what could be a crucial mid-November matchup against a tough, well-coached, fundamentally sound Iowa State team.

I’m envisioning a snow-covered field for this game, and Kansas State promises to be a contender for the Big 12 this season.
Chris Klieman is a really good head coach. He has built a quality program at K-State. If Satterfield is going to build the same program at Cincinnati, this is a program to emulate. Consider this game a measuring stick game at the highest degree,

Week 14: vs. TCU – Sat., November 30th (TBD)
TCU is another middle-of-the-pack team in the Big 12 Preseason Media Poll. If the Bearcats are going to get back to bowl eligibility, they have to start beating teams in the middle of the conference. TCU, despite being an experienced team, is an opponent the Bearcats should win against at home on Senior Night.
