Is the Bearcats quarterback battle, a two man competition?

Fall camp is about to start at the end of the month and the Cincinnati Bearcats will enter into their second season in the Big 12. The first season didn’t go as well as planned as they went 3-9 overall and 1-8 in the Big 12 coming in last place, but optimism is high around Clifton that the Bearcats can improve upon their 2023 showing. If the ‘Cats are going to make an improvement in 2024 the quarterback play will have to be a lot better. Emory Jones transferred in and had an up and down 2023, flashing some great talent, while also missing easy throws that could’ve possibly changed the tide of the season. Now, Jones is currently on the Baltimore Ravens roster who will take over the reigns in 2024?

Samaj Jones, freshman

Jones is the prize of the 2023 class as the dual threat four star recruit early enrolled and showed some real good flashes in the Spring. The true freshman is a dark horse in the competition now that Brady Drogosh has made the switch from quarterback to linebacker. Can the freshman steal some early playing time? He has the talent, but I don’t know if he overtakes Lichtenberg and Sorsby just yet.
