We did our Center installment first so now we are back to rank the top 10 Power Forwards in the game. The same four (Me, Ron, Martel and Nate) created a list of the ten 4 men, graded on a ten point system and it turned out like this.
10. David Lee, Golden State Warriors, pts 6– he might be one of the most underrated players in the league. Hell i didn’t even know he was 20 and 10 last year. He’s a former all-star whose game isn’t flashy but he does everything well. He’s real good in pick and roll because if his ability to shoot the jumper as well as finish inside.- Martel
9. Amare Stoudemire, New York Knicks, pts 8– Since Amare went from being Amar’e his game has not been the same. Not blaming the apostrophe for his decline in play, but it was just something to add (lol). Stoudemire is still capable of being a 20 and 10 guy if he dedicates himself to rebounding the ball. The pressure is on Stoudemire and the Knicks more than ever, and his performance will have to match his contract. This off-season Stoudemire is spending $50,000 a week to work out with Hakeem Olajuwon to improve his footwork and post play. I think Amar’e will rejuvenate himself this season and cement his place as one the best bigs in the NBA if he regains his health and motivation- Ron
8. Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs, pts 10– Duncan is the OG of the list he will for sure make the Hall of Fame and is still a solid force. After a few years where it looked l that like Timmy was finished he had a very solid year. He still can score inside, outside and protect the paint just not the same as his early years.- JT
7. Pau Gasol, Los Angeles Lakers, pts 13– Gasoft moments aside Pau is one of, if not the most, skilled big man in the league. The addition of Steve Nash’s drive and kick skills to the Lakers will help create space and opportunity for Pau to flourish on the block and midrange area.- Nate
6. Zach Randolph, Memphis Grizzlies, pts 14– Randolph is basically a career 20 and 10 guy if not for his first two season where he didn’t play much. He was a guy who went unknown for most of his career until he went to Memphis and made his first All Star team. He then became a super star with his dominate playoff run in 2011. An Injury set him back last season but I expect him to bounce back fully next season.- Martel
5. Chris Bosh, Miami Heat, pts 26– Chris Bosh may be the victim of a lot of jokes that deals with his mannerisms and what not, but on the basketball court he is a PLAYER. It was quite evident to see the importance of Bosh during the Heat’s championship run. Bosh is very consistent and gives space for LeBron and D-Wade because of his ability to shoot the ball. Bosh would probably be in the top 2 of this list if he didn’t play with two other All-NBA performers.- Ron
3t. LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland Trail Blazers, pts 28– LaMarcus is my favorite PF right behind Z-Bo. If LaMarcus was in a bigger market he would already be a household name. He is a force on offense whether it’s in the pick n roll game, on the block or facing cats up. He has been a steady 20 and 8 guy the last few years, if he can attack the glass a little harder he has the potential to move up the list, the kid has game.- JT
3t. Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers, pts 28– One of the most feared big men on a fast break since the days of “Reign Man” Shawn Kemp. With all of the perimeter play from CP3, Billups and with additions of Grant Hill and Jamal Crawford the paint should be wide open for Blake to go to work. Hopefully there’s an improved post game this year.- Nate
2. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks, pts 29– Dirk is not only a top ten now but he is a top ten all time. 12x All NBA 1st,2nd,or 3rd. A 11x all-star with a league MVP and finals MVP. He has career averages of 22 and 8. He’s a 7 footer that can hit the three and he seems to have a couple good years still in him.- Martel
1. Kevin Love, Minnesota Timberwolves, pts 36– Kevin Love has improved his game leaps and bounds since entering the NBA. Love who has always been a beast on the glass has added a potent three-point shot and has dedicated himself to be in tip top shape. Love has fallen in love with the jump shot lately, but he still does work in the paint. After playing with Team USA this summer Love will now be even more confident in his abilities. The sky is the limit for how great Love can become.- Ron
