Wednesday aka hump day was a good day to quote Ice Cube for the Cincinnati Bearcats. In the tri state area the weather was great, the birds were chirping and the Bearcats got great news for their basketball and football programs.
Mick Cronin got great news, per Go Bearcats, we learned that leading scorer Sean Kilpatrick will be returning for his senior season. That was news most outsiders didn’t expect to receive regarding the Bearcats star guard. With Cats going to a new conference in the fall keeping the 2x 2nd team all big east performer is music to the athletic departments ears. SK will be the first to get a degree from his family when he graduates next year, on an outside note that’s great he’s breaking that barrier for his family.
New Bearcats football coach Tommy Tuberville got into the good news Wednesday act as it was confirmed Ex-Notre Dame QB Gunner Kiel will transfer to Cincy. This is a huge land for the Cats. Kiel, was a highly touted recruit coming out of high school and may be the highest rated QB recruit to come to UC. Tuberville pulled a rabbit out his hat to land a QB who was committed to the likes of Indiana and LSU before picking Notre Dame. Kiel will have to sit out this season but he will have three years left of eligibility left when he suits up for the Bearcats. I hope Gunner has a good Bearcat career.
Mick and Tommy are probably somewhere right now in Cincy enjoying a long island ice tea for the Wednesday they had this week and they deserve to have a drink with the good news that was received. Go Bearcats!!!
