We are back for our 4 fantasy football sleepers edition this year. Fantasy football is starting up as we speak and if you haven’t drafted we have a player at each position you should keep an eye on that may be valuable to draft.
Last year some of our players hit, Julio Jones was the best one I picked, Josh Freeman and Gresham had solid fantasy years especially if you drafted them in the middle to late rounds. My luck with the running backs has been very meager at best the last two year picking the sleepers but hopefully this year my luck will change.
Check who I’m rolling with for our sleepers this year.
QB Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs– Ok, ok, ok don’t throw stones at me, hear me out first 9 times out of 10 Andy Reid will make his quarterback put up good fantasy numbers. If you wait until the late rounds to get a QB you should jump on Smith because the Chiefs will do a lot of screen passes that may turn into big plays because of Jamaal Charles. Smith also keeps his turnovers down and has a security blanket in Dwayne Bowe at receiver. I’m pretty sure he will set a personal high in yards and tds this year.
RB Lamar Miller, Miami Dolphins– Miller did solid with minimum playing time last year as a rookie this year is his shot to be the man. He has big play speed and the Phins love to use their back ask Reggie Bush. Miller is worth the gamble as your 3rd back that may play himself into a must start by the end of the year. With Mike Wallace in the fold it may be hard to load the box on Miller, think about that for a second just don’t reach too early.
WR Emmanuel Sanders, Pittsburgh Steelers– Because of the loss of Mike Wallace, Sanders moves into the number 2 receiver role for the Steelers, with Big Ben back there that makes Sanders a threat immediately. He was the number 3 receiver last year in put up decent numbers ( 44, 626 and 1 TD) and those numbers should jump with the target increase. Sanders will not be a 3rd or 4th receiver to get on your team. It is very possible he could be a must start by the end of the season. He will be a great mid to late round selection this year. For the people who draft him just pray Big Ben stays healthy and you will be happy with the outcome.
TE Jordan Cameron, Cleveland Browns– Yeah a Cleveland Browns player made the list don’t automatically disqualify my opinion lol. Norv Turner the new OC for the Browns has been known his whole career to implement the Tight End on a weekly basis, check Gates and Novachek for verification. Cameron will get a chance to make an impact if you wait late to get a TE, he should be on your list to gamble with. Weeden has to throw to ball to somebody why not it be Cameron? I think he may be the main sleeper of this list.
These are guys I’m rolling with let me know if you like the list and who else you think will make a major impact that is flying under the radar. Please don’t state the oblivious like Larry Fitzgerald or Adrian Peterson lol.
