LaQuinton Ross a.k.a Q-Rawwwse of THE Ohio State Buckeyes announced that he will forgo his senior season and enter the NBA Draft. Last season Ross averaged a little over 15.0 ppg and brought down 5 rebounds per game as well. The swingman out of Mississippi, was named 3rd Team All-Big Ten, and was named to the first team All-Big Ten Tournament team. Ross, who many thought didn’t live up to his billing at Ohio State had a pretty good career.
Ross played a small role during his freshman season, but came on big during the Big Ten and NCAA Tournament last season. Ross became a household name after he hit the game winning shot against Arizona to put OSU in the Elite 8 last season.
This past season Ross didn’t have the luxury to play with anyone that could help shoulder the scoring load, which led to some pretty tough moments for him. The 6’8 Ross has good shooting ability, and the ability to score the ball from all areas of the floor. There are some holes in Ross’s game, but the potential is there when you see him play. I would have personally liked for Ross to return, but I also felt that he maxed out at the collegiate level.
Many think that hanging around in college longer can improve your game, but at times it can put a hamper on. If you don’t belive me ask James McAdoo from UNC.
Ross is projected to be a late first round to middle of the second round pick, but all of that can change due to workouts, team needs, and the NBA pre-draft camp. All in all I would like to wish Ross the best on his future in basketball, and good luck in the NBA Draft.
