Louisville will remain with Adidas after signing a five year, $40 million dollar contract that will go through the 2018-19 season. The deal will guarantee partnership with the school in shoes and apparel. Notre Dame and Under Armour this past January signed a ten year deal worth $90 million dollars. More details of the deal will be discussed in a press conference this Thursday afternoon. According to ESPN.com, Adidas has lost business with Notre Dame to Under Armor and Tennessee to Nike.
This apparel deal lands with Adidas lands Louisville in the Top 5 nationally.
“Adidas has been a loyal partner for 16 years and I am thrilled that we will continue through this significantly expanded agreement as we move into a new era in the Atlantic Coast Conference,” said U of L athletic director Tom Jurich. “The synergies with the sport of soccer and our new stadium, future innovative uniform designs, and the passion Adidas displays towards outfitting all of our student-athletes at the highest level nationally make this a model relationship.”
