So as a kid watching TV with my pops every Saturday no matter if the Buckeyes were good or if they sucked you learned one thing you can’t like Michigan aka The Team Up North in this house. Wanting to be somewhat like my pops, I followed lead, I was engrained to like Buckeyes football, hell not like, love Buckeyes football. It felt good with the help of my wife to take my dad to his first Buckeye football in 2012 (They played Illinois). My bucket list of seeing an Ohio State Buckeye game live was scratched off the list, but from years of talking with my friend Brandon, it was one thing that was missing. That one thing was seeing the greatest football rivalry in college live once. Last Saturday, I crossed off one of the biggest bucket list items by seeing OSU and TTUN collide at Ohio Stadium aka the Horseshoe.
First off I want to say me and my Brandon purchased our tickets very early and if we didn’t get them early we probably would’ve had life situations that would’ve made us decide against purchasing the tickets. With that being said I’m happy as (fill in the blank) that we made the purchase. The next few paragraphs will explain some of the journey and highlight the game through my eyes.
I get up, get dressed decked out in OSU gear, evening dusting off my gray and scarlet Air Force 1’s (Nike feel free to hook me up with some more) and head to go pick up my homie who was decked out also, even though I was up early we had a little mix up on the communication side so I was 15 minutes behind schedule. No worries we still have a little time to play with, so we gas up, get some food and hit I 71 North. Listening to Rick Ross and Future on the drive up there, we exchange life stories and our excitement for finally being able to see this game live.
We finally get off the exit, find parking and let me tell you it was happiest $15 I’ve ever gave a parking attendant in my life. Now that we have parked we start our trek to Ohio Stadium, of course we go against the gain everybody is walking on the sidewalk we slice through an open field while hopping over geese poop. We made it through the field pretty fast and only stepping over a few turds, I know vivid right? Walking through all of the tailgating taking pictures, we ask an older lady to take a picture of us and we returned the favor. So we scan our tickets and head to our seats, simple right? No! We enter the right gate, but go the wrong way. With that mistake we see the TTUN head to the visiting tunnel, which if we would’ve gone to our seats as planned we wouldn’t have experienced pretty tight right? We make it to our seats, talk to the people around us and get to see the band play.
