I was spared a few minutes to talk with forward Daniel Camps. Camps, a North Carolina native is currently averaging 4.9 ppg and 2.8 rpg in his sophomore season. Camps is known for his impressive athletic ability.
DC= Daniel Camps
JS= Jesse Smith
JS= What age did you first dunk a basketball?
DC= I was in the 8th grade, I think 13 years of age. It was in the layup line during AAU. It was a one hand dunk. Me and a bunch of guys kept getting hung and I finally got one to go and everybody got hype.
JS= A guy with your physical talents, what part of your game do you work on most?
DC= Now, I work on my jumpshot. My shooting ability isn’t up there with a few of my teammates, so I understand that’s what I have to work on.
JS= What is your favorite personal highlight since being at NKU?
DC= The West Virginia one, it was one of the biggest games in NKU history, its a blessing for it to be on Sports Center, its probably one of the coolest moments of my life.
JS= Are you excited about (Atlantic Sun) conference play?
DC= Yeah, because of the way we left off last year. We were on a hot streak even though we weren’t winning(a lot of games) we really came together. We wished we had more basketball left, we left we would win more games. We have everyone healthy and more pieces coming aboard which will allow us to have a better run.
JS= What does Daniel do for fun?
DC= Cook seafood and watch Netflix.
Good luck to Daniel and the Norse for the rest of the season.
