Chris Paul gets past his first round nightmares

Saturday all everyone cared about was Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight, you might not have liked how the fight played out, but May 2nd was about the fight of our era like it or not. While everyone was consumed with May/Pac there an epic game 7 battle going on between the Spurs and the Clippers. I can’t lie I missed most of it because it because I was checking out the undercards of the fight, I mean if you or your friend spends a c-note for the fight you are probably going to watch the fight right?

Chris Paul is a 10 year vet and before Saturday night it was well noted that he had only gotten out of the first round twice in his storied career. CP3 has been Teflon when it comes to this subject because of how well he plays, but after LeBron got him a few titles attention has to turn to somebody else when they do win right?

Paul played his ass off all series, but if the Clippers lost game 7 it would’ve been all for nothing. He put on a show that will be remembered for ages as he played through an obvious hamstring tweak to put 27 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and a block. He was 9 of 13 from the field, 5 of 6 from 3 and 4 of 4 from the line, oh and he hit the game winner to seal his fate.

After striking out countless times he has finally broke through, after the game was over he broke down as he congratulated his teammates and showed respect to the Spurs. It had to be a huge relief for Paul and to do it against the Spurs has to be special.
