Northern Kentucky has announced the signing of LaVone Holland, who will join the men’s basketball team this coming fall and have three years of eligibility remaining. Holland is also eligible to compete immediately for the Norse.
“I am very excited to add LaVone to our team here at Northern Kentucky University,” said head coach John Brannen. “LaVone’s athleticism, length and versatility will be a another great fit for our style of play. He has had an impact on winning his entire career, from his days at Louisville’s Ballard HS to playing for one of the top junior colleges in the country at Coffeyville CC this past year. Norse Fans will enjoy getting to know LaVone and his family over the next 3 years. “
Holland is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, where he played at the aforementioned Ballard High School. After studying at the College of Southern Idaho, the 6-foot-1 guard attended Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas. He helped lead the Jayhawks to a 26-6 overall record, averaging 13.8 points per game on the strength of 50 percent shooting from the floor. Holland also averaged 2.3 assists per contest.
