Breaking: Bearcats DC Marcus Freeman agrees to a new two year deal

Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports has reported that the Cincinnati Bearcats defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Marcus Freeman has signed a new two year deal that has given him a $75,000 a year raise that has been privately funded. He will make $600,000 this year.

Freeman is one of the best defensive coordinators in the nation, he was courted heavy by Michigan State as well as other P5 schools. After taking care of Fickell earlier in the offseason this was another smart move by the athletic department.

Congrats to Marcus!

  1. Great news! Some might argue that keeping Coach Freeman is equally important as keeping Coach Fickell. Can not wait to see our Cats play some football!

    1. Very great news. Freeman is very important to the success of the Bearcats. One day he will be a head coach for a good team, hopefully if Fickell is gone, he’s our HC.
