WVB: Season Preview 2021

This weekend the Bearcats Volleyball Program led by Molly Alvey and Phil White look to kick off their 2021 season. This is now the second season in 2021 as they are coming off a very unusual year where they played their 2020 season in the spring of 2021. The Bearcats finished the 2021 spring season 6-7 (4-4 AAC). This is very unusual for the Bearcats as they only played 13 matches compared to a normal season where they typically play 30-35 matches a season but due to Covid-19 that really messed the scheduling up for the Bearcats volleyball team.

Looking ahead to the fall 2021 season there’s a lot of things to look forward to this season as the Bearcats look to get back into a full swing of things as they kick off their season later today when they play Dayton at 12:30pm, followed by Texas State at 7pm. The Bearcats program is looking to kick their season off with two of the top teams in the NCAA when they take on Texas State later tonight followed by reigning national champions and No. 3 ranked Kentucky this Saturday at 12:30 pm.

Some things to look forward to ahead of the 2021 season for the Bearcats. The Bearcats program Led by coach Molly Alvey who is entering her 10th season as head coach look to bounce back and get back to the NCAA tournament after a stellar 2019 where she lead the Bearcats to their first ever Sweet 16 in school history, along the way she led the Bearcats to an incredible 5 set victory over number 6th ranked Pittsburgh in the Round of 32.
