However, Williams a very quick receiver with tremendous ability to create big plays that could change the game in a second, played in only 15 games his first two seasons at Ohio State, before transferring to coach Saban and the Crimson Tide. Williams, is a dangerous weapon for the Crimson Tide and should expect to see a lot of targets from Alabama quarterback and Heisman winner Bryce Young.
The high-powered Crimson Tide offense will see a huge task at hand, with a very tough Bearcat’s defense. The talk around this game was for the Bearcats to pressure Bryce Young, as we saw earlier in the season when Alabama suffered their only loss, to Texas A&M, when Bryce Young was pressured, you could see a huge momentum change. A talented defense line like the Bearcats have with the likes of Myjai Sanders, Curtis Brooks, Jabari Taylor, Malik Vann and Jowon Briggs, expect to apply pressure to Bryce Young early in this one, as many Bearcat fans have saw all season, their ability to create turnovers and that all starts with the defensive front.
The Bearcats defensive line can create a lot of pressure and mismatches for the Crimson Tide offensive line, it will allow Jim Thorpe award winner, Coby Bryant, and projected first round NFL Draft prospect Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner some opportunities to show why they’re arguably the best cornerback duo in all of college football.
The Bearcats also have a dynamic core at linebacker as well as the secondary as many know, but Darrien Beavers, Deshawn Pace, Joe Dublanko Ty Van Fossen, all bring so much to the table on defense and can change a game very quickly, this defense will Suprise a lot of people come tomorrow.
Bearcats’ defensive coordinator Mike Tressel gave a lot of praise to Curtis Brooks, Joe Dublanko and Arquon Bush, when asked about players who don’t get noticed as often as others, on this dominant Bearcats defense.
“Curtis Brooks, our nose tackle, might be the MVP of the defense. Even though we sit here and talk about the corners, and some other guys, that guy is defiantly an unsung hero and owns the middle of our defense. Joe Dublanko as the Mike, having the ability to communicate and run the show, finish plays, probably doesn’t get enough credit for how he finishes plays. The safeties, Arquon Bush, you know, you don’t get to this point as a great defense without having leaders and unsung heroes in every position group. I feel like that is what we have. ”
The Bearcats defense will match up very well versus this high-powered Crimson Tide offense and a lot of people will be shocked to see the NFL talent on this team once that ball is kicked off. The key for the Bearcats defense is to create pressure on Bryce Young, make the sophomore uncomfortable in the backfield, make them try to open the run game early, as the Bearcats one of the best run defenses in college football, if they can limit Bryce Young to those big plays to guys like Jameson Williams, Slade Bolden, it will be a defensive game, but it starts up front as the Crimson Tide offense is going to look to come out firing. The Bearcats not only have to stay locked in on defense, and it starts with the defensive line, and veteran cornerbacks Coby Bryant and Ahmad “Sauce’ Gardner, to slow down those yards after the catch, as that is where the Crimson Tide offense excels.
Will the Bearcats be able to hold off the high-powered Crimson Tide offense as they look to shock the world and upset the number 1 seed Alabama. We will find out tomorrow as the Bearcats take on the Crimson Tide at 2:30 CT, (3:30 ET) live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
