AAC picks Bearcats to finish second in preseason poll

The Cincinnati Bearcats were picked by the American Athletic Conference to finish second. They received seven first place votes, while UCF received 10 first place votes and Memphis received two.

Honestly with the team the Bearcats have returning, I don’t see how they weren’t picked to finish first, but who am I? I think they are in a position to shock a few teams which is odd for a team who is coming off of back to back 11 wins.

Per GoBearcats:

The University of Cincinnati football team was picked to finish second in the American Athletic Conference preseason poll, the league announced Tuesday.

The Bearcats garnered 201 overall votes with seven choices for first place. UCF led the way with 204 votes and 10 first-place tallies. Defending AAC Champion Memphis (192/2) was third, followed by SMU (146), Navy (125/1), Tulane (118), Houston (114), Temple (88), Tulsa (49), ECU (42) and USF (41).

It is the second-straight year the Bearcats and Knights have been picked 1-2 in the preseason media vote. UC won the AAC’s East Division for the first time in 2019.

  1. Thanks JT. Based on the article, I’m guessing that your vote wasn’t counted. I realize that it is a media poll, but I was wondering if you know which media members’ votes counted. Matters little, I suppose. Just makes it that much sweeter when our Cats are in the playoffs! Oh snap! Did I say that out loud?
