Remembering Shawn Kemp

In lieu of the Reebok Kamikaze 1 dropping on January 17th  I thought I’d pay homage to the “Reignman” Shawn Kemp. I could remember in my elementary school days impersonating Shawn Kemp on my fisher price hoop rocking my Kamikaze’s. A lot of people who will be standing in line for Shawn Kemp’s shoes probably won’t understand the impact Kemp had on the game of basketball. Kemp was a perennial All-Star (Before Cleveland Cavs and Alcohol) and he was Blake Griffin before Blake Griffin. Kemp was a high flyer, and had the ability to hit the mid-range jumper. Kemp played his best ball in Seattle with the SuperSonics, where he teamed with Gary Payton, Detlef Schrempf, and Sam Perkins. Kemp was also one of the first video game players who dominated at an insane rate on NBA Jam. This blog post is making me feel old, but I figured a history lesson was needed on Shawn Kemp.

Here is a highlight video Kemp doing what made him famous.
