Gatlin beats Bolt in 100m, in Bolt’s last individual race

Justin Gatlin finally beat Usain Bolt and it happened to come during Bolt’s last individual race. I didn’t get to see it live, but it was posted all over social media so I decided to share. Bolt is one of greatest to ever do it, if not the greatest. Even Gatlin showed Bolt respect after pulling off the upset.

I personally don’t know how many times these two have raced throughout the last decade, but respect to Gatlin who at the age of 35 beat the 30-year-old Bolt.

Gatlin ran a 9.92 second 100m, followed by Christian Coleman 9.94 and Bolt at 9.95.

Audio: Shaq disses LaVar Ball over Jay-Z beat

LaVar Ball and Shaq have had a few jabs for each other in the following months. We all know LaVar to be a media lighting rod, whenever a mic in his face (pause) he is liable to say anything and mostly he does that.

Shaq said he should charge less than $495 to make it affordable for the kids, like his Shaq shoes that are in Wal-Mart and LaVar of course clapped back saying something to the tune of you got shoes there, I don’t have to.

LaVar was asked if he and LaMelo could beat Shaq and Shareef and of course he gave us some headline material and now we have the Shaq diss track.

LeBron and KD have a rap song together?

With the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors playing in their third straight finals and Kevin Durant now forming a super team with the Warriors a snippet of a LeBron and KD song has been released. Yes, it is a rap song and yes, they say it is from 2011, so whoever (I don’t feel like researching) released it must want some attention?

If you haven’t heard this intro check it out.

Do you think LeBron and KD make a “What A Time To Be Alive” or “Watch The Throne”? hahaha I kid!

Martellus Bennett goes at Fox Sports 1, Jason Whitlock for LeBron vandalism comments

We all know what happened to LeBron James, Los Angeles home this week and it wasn’t a pretty thing, matter of fact it was a hateful thing that seems in the shadows of America. Maybe it isn’t in the shadows for some, but for those that try to mask it this situation stays in the shadows.

Jason Whitlock (whom I personally don’t like his views) had an egregious view about LeBron’s home getting vandalized and put him another others on a pedestal and pretty much tried to separate himself from other African American people, which at the end of the day is stupid. If LeBron can become victim of racial slurs and or racism what about the regular folks like me? It is a no brainer it can happen and has happened throughout my lifetime.

Fast forward to Friday and Green Bay Packers tight end Martellus Bennett who has been one to never hold his tongue lashed out on social media against Fox Sports One worker Jason Whitlock and he had a lot of great points.

Check out what started the conversation:

Check out the twitter rant from Bennett:

Let us know your thoughts in the comments, I know I agree with Bennett and Whitlock seems to have lost touch with the common people.

LeBron James speaks for the culture when addressing his vandalized home

It was reported that LeBron James, Los Angeles home was vandalized Tuesday and somebody had the balls to spray the N-Word on his gate (if you don’t know what the N- Word holla at me in the comments). It is sad because James is the best player in the world and he is one of the most recognizable and he just like millions of other black men still have to deal with racial situations. What did James do to deserve this? Honestly just be black, in this world we can’t pick what color skin we are, but we can control how we treat others no matter race or condition and this just proves that as a whole we have a long way to go. Nowadays racism comes from keyboards and hidden agendas, the same people that cheer for African American players on a daily basis are quick to shoot racial slurs at the same player or players if they do something they don’t approve of and it is sad. This isn’t all people, but the percentage is higher than the masses want to believe.

I love how LeBron addressed the media on Wednesday, because he could’ve acted like it wasn’t a big deal and we all know it is. Check out what James had to say and also see what hall of famer Isiah Thomas had to say about the James stepping up to the plate.

Basketball aside James has done a lot for the urban community and he needs to be applauded for that a lot of our favorite players have whiffed when put in certain situations or have been in the shadows. As a black man I admire his work especially off the court.

Video: Randy Orton RKO’s son

Hey my homie Nate shared this video in GroupMe chat yesterday (ChainGang shoutout) and I was just too lazy to share it with the masses yesterday (my bad), but WWE Superstar Randy Orton was kicking it with his family pool side and caught his son slipping when entering the pool. What happen after that was why everyone that watches wrestling loves “The Viper”.

If you haven’t watched the video check it out.

Why did LaVar Ball go off on Kristine Leahy?

Well yesterday LaVar Ball went off on Fox Sports analysis Kristine Leahy on Colin Cowherd’s show, at first glance it may look like LaVar was being extra, but after doing some research it seems like he had a leg to stand on as Leahy and colleague Jason Whitlock went in on Ball and his brand on a recent show.

Ball said only thing Whitlock can comment on is donuts. Love him or hate him he is a media lighting bolt and every time we talk about him it is helping his brand if you like it or not.

Target joins MLS and Minnesota United as official partner

AT&T, Wells Fargo, Heineken, Coca-Cola, Allstate, Etihad Airways, Audi.

Now – Target.

On Thursday, the league announced Target as their latest addition of corporate sponsors. On top of the league-wide deal, MNUFC will suit up with the iconic red and eye bulls-eye displayed on the front side of their kit.

Target is already involved in the action sports scene, but partnering with MLS signifies its largest push into the sports world.

“There are so many things that drew us to soccer – it’s multicultural, watched and played by families and is growing immensely in popularity,” Rick Gomez, Target senior vice president of Marketing said in a statement.

This partnership will include “brand integration across platforms, including broadcast, digital, video, content, in-stadium and on-site activation at marquee MLS events,” per MLS.com.

Target currently holds naming rights partnerships with two Minnesota sports facilities: Target Field and Target Center – home of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Timberwolves, respectively.

When it comes to the kit sponsorship, on field branding and in-stadium activation rights is also included in the bundle. The Target brand will be on display at TCF Bank Stadium throughout the inaugural season.

Minnesota United will commence playing in MLS this March, after years of playing in the United Soccer League. The team has already sold more than 8,000 season ticket deposits and will join the Eastern Conference with ex-Orlando City coach Adrian Heath.

“We look forward to helping launch Minnesota United FC to the world and bring soccer to the Twin Cities, which has been Target’s hometown for more than 50 years,” said Rick Gomez, senior vice president, Marketing, Target. “Target has a long history of supporting our local teams and are proud to be part of Major League Soccer’s expansion into the Twin Cities this year.”
