Odell Beckham Jr. new deal resets the market for wide receivers

On Monday the New York Giants extended wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr to the tune of five-years $95 million with $65 million guaranteed.

Mike Evans got $55 million in guarantees so this bests the Tampa Bay receiver by $10 million. Beckham was set to get $8.4 million as a part of his last year of his rookie deal, but the extension was able to give him a $20 million signing bonus (of course they adjusted the yearly salary, but OBJ has become a lot richer).

This deal will make it easier for the next superstar receiver to get paid close to Beckham or even better.

Do you think he deserved the money? Personally yes just look at his stats in the impact he has on the game on a weekly basis.

Career stats:

313 receptions, 4,424 yards and 38 touchdowns in four years and just think he only played four games last season and missed four games as a rookie.

Who will be the first receiver to get 80% or more of their contract guaranteed? Just think Kirk Cousins has a 100% guaranteed contract, Kirk “f***ing” Cousins will get all of his money for three years just think about that. Beckham Jr., has done his part and helping people get more guaranteed money salute him.

At the end of the day get paid young brotha’ get paid. Now who will be the quarterback of the future to get him the rock whenever Eli Manning retires.
