Putting the Bearcats football season in perspective

In defeat this team kept fighting wide received Kahlil Lewis looked like he tore his ankle up late in the game, but during the next serious he was out there running routes. Who doesn’t love that? Tyrell Gilbert one of the team’s best corners pulled his groin early in the game and was labeled out for the game and came back during the second half to play to get hurt again when his shoulder was hit inadvertently by his teammate you could see him trying to fight through the pain on the sideline to comeback in the game to battle with his brothers. Running back Mike Warren had a problem with his shoulder early in the game and fought though it much of the game waving off trainers on the sideline until it was just too much to bear. Center Garrett Campbell broke his ankle this season and came back to play the entire game Saturday. I highlight these examples to say something great is going on in Cincinnati, the toughness and heart these young men are displaying needs to be congratulated and if you are a fan of the program you should be proud of these young men.

Not ranked anymore after losing to a team that is ranked in the College Football Playoff Top 10 because the AAC doesn’t get any love they still have a chance to win at least 10 games this season. They play ECU Friday for senior day. You win on Friday and win your bowl game this team can max out at 11-2. That is a hell of an improvement from 4-8 the previous two seasons. I know this is Fickell’s second season, but the original 4-8 got Tommy Tuberville fired because you could see where the program was at and where it was heading. Fickell has inserted life into this program and has had success ahead of schedule. I talk about it all the time, I had this team going 6-6 back dooring its way into a bowl game on Friday, but that won’t be the case because this team has arrived and it is one of the youngest teams in college football so barring anything drastic it is no reason to believe they aren’t here to stay.

This team isn’t perfect, but don’t harp on the negatives enjoy the process this program is on the rise faster than expected UCF just showed Cincinnati where it wants to be sooner than later and that is ok everybody needs a goal.
