Guard Cane Broome will play his last home game Sunday against No. 12 Houston. Broome has been with the program the last three years, but has been on the court two of the three per NCAA transfer rule process. When he came from Sacred Heart expectations were high for the guard, he has to step up in competition and mode himself into the best Bearcat player he could. I could imagine it is an h*** of an adjustment from being NEC Player of the Year (2015-16) and the main vocal point of the team to no having to be a part of a whole unit.
Broome could change his name to the “UConn Strangler” which his performances against his hometown team, just seek out the back to back three he hit against them February 24th that netted him American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. He is a crafty lefty that has the ability to make tough shots, create for others and get to the hole.
Broome still has the AAC tournament and the NCAA tournament coming up to add to his Bearcat memories. #BearcatNation lets show the senior some love he doesn’t have much time left at the university. Hopefully the young man gets a shot to play professional ball somewhere!
