Bengals sure up troubled offensive line? Re-sign OT Bobby Hart for three years

So as free agency starts you hear all of the big deal free agents are getting and you sit back and thing good job by them and their agents. When the news broke that the Cincinnati Bengals resigned offensive tackle Bobby Hart, I figured Bengals fans would comb through this deal with a magnifying glass. Then the details broke that they resigned him to a three-year deal worth $21 million dollars. The guarantees of this deal haven’t been disclosed, but if you like me have watched a lot of Bengals football games you know this deal is highway robbery by Hart and his agent. I don’t hate on players getting their money, but I can offer my opinion on being overpaid, underpaid and exc. What did the Bengals brass see to first want to resign Hart and then make him a well paid tackle?

Look at the highlights below of the tackle.

Right now every defensive lineman in the AFC North is jumping for joy because you don’t need to look at the numbers to know that Hart was one of the worst starting right tackles in the NFL. Just look at the deal Trent Brown received from the Oakland Raiders (4 years, $66 million), you can say they overpaid, but at least you know that Brown is labeled an elite tackle, while Hart is getting slightly less than half of Brown yearly, but with not any of the steady play.

Just when Bengals fans have hope, a move like this sucks all the life out of the fan base, Hart is too happy and the fans are too sad. The day and the life of the Bengals fan, this has to hurt, I thought the front office was supposed to try to help improve the team?
