Per Jarron Cumberland’s Instagram story he is returning for his senior season after testing the NBA waters. This is huge news for the basketball program with Mick Cronin leaving and John Brannen taking over multiple players transferred out, but with Cumberland coming back with the guys they have retained now with possible grad transfers and juco players on deck the Bearcats season doesn’t look as bleak as it did yesterday.

Cumberland was the teams leading scorer at 18.8 points per game, he also averaged 4.4 rebounds and led the team with 3.6 assists per game. He shot 40.4% from the field and 38.8% from three. He has a chance to break to 2,000 career points mark as he stands at 1,363 points currently.
Hopefully after a strong senior season he will get the placement he’s worked for in the NBA. I’m pretty sure he will be able to work on the feedback he received and that might not be a good thing for the AAC because the Player of the Year is coming back!
