The Cincinnati Bearcats traveled to Philadelphia, PA to face AAC rival Temple Owls for an important road game on Wednesday. Cincinnati doesn’t play until next week so would they be able to be 5-2 in conference during the small break or 4-3?
In the first half Cincinnati had control most of the first half behind a dominate first half by Chris Vogt who scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half. Cincinnati took a 41-40 lead into halftime.
In the second half Jarron Cumberland aided by Jaevin Cumberland and Tre Scott were able to seal a road win. Jarron had a team high 22 points, six rebounds, three steals and a block on 4-of-11 from the field and 13-of-14 from the line. Jaevin had 15 points off the bench on 4-of-8 from three. Scott had another double double with 16 points and 11 rebounds (five assists). Keith Williams had 10 points and Vogt finished with 18 points.
Cincinnati was able to outlasts Temple shooting 64% from three, which is something we aren’t used to. Claiming a 89-82 win puts Cincinnati at 12-7 overall and 5-2 in the AAC without a game until Tuesday at home against SMU.
