Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Becomes 13th UC Player To Win A Super Bowl

Congrats to Travis Kelce for his win in Super Bowl 54!

Former University of Cincinnati tight end Travis Kelce (2008-12) became the 13th Bearcats player in school history to win a Super Bowl

Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs knocked off the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, Feb. 2 in Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Kelce finished the game with six receptions for 43 yards, including a 1-yard TD grab, the first touchdown by a former UC player in the Super Bowl.

Kelce and his brother Jason (Super Bowl LII – Philadelphia Eagles), also a former Bearcats standout, have bowl won Super Bowl titles.

The complete list of UC’s former student-athletes who have won Super Bowls consists of: Jim O’Brien – 1971 (Super Bowl V), Reggie Harrison – 1975 (Super Bowl IX), Reggie Harrison – 1976 (Super Bowl X), Dan Rains – 1985 (Super Bowl XX), Brad Jackson – 2001 (Super Bowl XXXV), Andre Frazier – 2006 (Super Bowl XL), Tyjuan Hagler – 2007 (Super Bowl XLI), Andre Frazier – 2009 (Super Bowl XLIII), Troy Evans – 2010 (Super Bowl XLIV), Brandon Underwood – 2011 (Super Bowl XLV), Chris Hewitt – 2013 (coach/Super Bowl XLVII), Derek Wolfe – 2016 (Super Bowl 50), Brent Celek and Jason Kelce – 2018 (Super Bowl LII), Travis Kelce (Super Bowl LIV).

The Bearcats will open the 2020 football season on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020 against Austin Peay inside Nippert Stadium.
