After No. 6 Cincinnati handled Houston, 38-10 at Nippert Stadium they received a commitment from three star defensive end Zeiqui Lawton. Lawton picked Cincinnati over NC State and West Virginia. The member of the 2021 class is from Charleston, WV and attends South Charleston High School. Per 247 Sports Composite rankings, Lawton the 37th ranked strong side defensive end and the 2nd best player in West Virginia.
