Breaking: Bearcats DC Marcus Freeman to take Notre Dame DC role

Well earlier in the week it was rumored that defensive coordinator/linebacker coach Marcus Freeman has interviews for Notre Dame, LSU and possibly a few other big time defensive coordinator positions, but this evening Freeman will be going to South Bend to join Brian Kelly’s staff. The last four years Freeman has helped Cincinnati get better and better on the defensive side of the ball. Last season, Kelly grabbed cornerback coach Mike Mickens and this season he grabbed Freeman.

Now, Cincinnati must search for their new defensive coordinator.

It’s reported that his new deal is four years worth $10 million, that averages out to $2.5 million a year, that’s heck of a raise from $600,000.

TFON wishes Freeman luck at Notre Dame, except when Cincinnati plays them next year.
