Darrick Forrest and Elijah Ponder were huge parts of a dangerous Bearcats defense this season. Both of them were invited to take part in the East-West Shrine Game. Forrest, originally from Columbus, Ohio was one of the senior leaders on the Bearcats defense this year as he was a menace in the UC defensive backfield. Forrest had 40 tackles with 31 of them being solo, a couple of picks and was a big vocal leader for the Bearcats secondary. Ponder also a big leader for the Bearcats defense this year. Ponder was a big part of the Bearcats defensive line and brought multiple pressures on quarterbacks this year. Ponder originally from Atlanta, Georgia was a menace for the Bearcats defense all year. Ponder had 22 total tackles, a sack on top of a forced fumble and played exceptionally well on the line.
We wish Darrick and Elijah the Best in their future as they both deserve this opportunity for all the hard work and dedication they put in this year.
