Today the Bearcats junior middle blocker Adria Oliver was named AAC Offensive Player of the Week after her stellar performance this past week. The junior has been a key part of the Bearcats offense as she has recorded 26 kills on 47 attempts while recording only five hitting errors in the conference opening series versus East Carolina University. Oliver started the first match of the series versus East Carolina University recording nine kills on her first 10 attempts to help propel the Bearcats to a 3 set to 1 victory over the ECU Pirates. The junior recorded an incredible hitting percentage of .447 while averaging for 3.7 kills a set in the last week. Oliver also played a huge factor at the net to help the Bearcats defensively as the junior averaged 1.0 blocks per set as well. Adria Oliver is a high energy and vocal leader of the Bearcats volleyball team as she makes her presence known when she’s on the court. The junior is a very smart, skilled player and has shown early on this season so far why she was named a Preseason All-AAC selection.
The Bearcats will look to keep the winning streak going after two big performances this past week when they travel to Butler University this Saturday at 2 pm to take on the Bulldogs.
