Previewing the Bearcats season opening opponent: Miami RedHawks

The RedHawks will have their number one receiver back on offense as Jack Sorenson returns after a strong start in their three games last season Sorenson recorded 18 catches for 354 yards and four touchdowns. He will look to be the RedHawks top target along with Penn State transfer Mac Hippenhammer. Hippenhammer who comes from a Big 10 powerhouse brings immediate upside to this RedHawks offense as he will look to become a big weapon for the RedHawks this fall. Davion Johnson will get the most action in the backfield for the RedHawks as the junior is the only upperclassman on the depth chart for Miami. Johnson rushed for 70 yards on 16 attempts. So Johnson didn’t see too much action, but the RedHawks as a whole had a very shortened season due to the pandemic.

Here’s a few players to keep on eye on as the Bearcats welcome rival Miami to Nippert Stadium tomorrow to kickoff the 2021 season. Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm so make sure you guys are tuned in and ready to watch the Bearcats take on Miami for the Victory Bell for the first time since 2019 as the teams didn’t meet in 2020 due to Covid-19. Luke Fickell and the Bearcats are looking to make it 15 games in row versus Miami and are looking to keep that Victory Bell in Clifton for a little bit longer.
