Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, cornerback
Gardner only had one pass breakup all day, but he literally cut off half of the field for the Bearcats. Standout wide receiver Ty Fryfogle had one catch for 13 yards on eight targets. The one catch wasn’t on Gardner’s watch, but we saw him move around a lot in the second half and that was key for this game ball. I also want to give Coby Bryant honorable mention on the game ball side of things.
