The big takeaway of the match was Myjai Sanders, everyone knew Sanders was going to have a great day with a banged up Irish offensive line. The thing is though Sanders made it nearly impossible for Jack Coan, Tyler Buchner and Drew Pyne to get comfortable in the pocket as the senior defensive end was winning just about every battle of the edge. He gave Buchner a big time welcome to the game as he got to Buchner very quickly and got the quarterback hurry that forced an interception by Deshawn Pace. Sanders was an absolute monster as he was just toying with the Irish offensive line and made it impossible for the Irish to get any momentum going because he was constantly in the quarterbacks faces. I was saying all week long that Sanders was going to have a huge day and he did exactly that, as he finished with two quarterback hurries, a big tackle for loss, and broke up two passes as well. Sanders raised his draft stock with his performance as he proved why he is one of the top defensive edge rushers in all of college football.
