Who replaces Desmond Ridder for the Bearcats in 2022?

Evan Prater, redshirt sophomore

Prater was the highest offensive signee when he committed to the Bearcats three years ago. The Wyoming High School star was a four star quarterback that a lot of major programs wanted a piece of. He decided to stay home and last season was the back to Ridder. He played in five games, didn’t light the world on fire, but had a few good moments.

2021 stats: 5-of-11 passing, 38 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception on 45.5%. 12 rushes, 105 yards, 8.8 yards per rush and 2 touchdowns

The key for Prater is to continue to show improvement in his passing game, he has a rocket arm, but he will have to improve on his accuracy and touch. His legs will be a weapon whenever he touches the field, but he will have to keep making improvements in the passing game. He will be in a battle with returning transfer Ben Bryant in the spring and fall.
